Canadian
Wade Campbell is the managing director of Borderlands, and has been working professionally in the adventure education trade for over twenty years. A certified instructor in climbing, kayaking, canoeing, rafting and skiing, he has worked and conducted programs for many of the leading training programs in North America. Megh
Nepali

Megh Ale is the Managing Director of our Nepal operations and is one of Nepal's leading figures in rafting. Having spent several years working and exploring the rivers and jungles of Nepal, including four years at the Royal Bardiya National Park as a naturalist, Megh is always ready to share his deep understanding of Nepal and its myriad of cultures, plants and animals. He is the founder and president of the NRCT , Nepal River Conservation Trust and the Managing Director of Ultimate Descents Nepal.

     
Dian
Sri Lankan
Dian is a patron for Borderlands. He is a successful entrepreneur, and the managing director of the largest intimate apparel producing company in the country. Recently he was recognized as the CEO of the year in Sri Lanka for 2004. Currently, he is the President of the National Boxing Federation of Sri Lanka.
     

Harshana
Sri Lankan

Harshana is an associate Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK), Botswana Institute of Accountants & Chartered institute of Marketing (UK). Commenced his career as an Accounts Executive at Eden Hotel Lanka Ltd, later he joined Ceylease Financial Services as a Marketing Executive. He gained foreign exposure as a Finance Manager in Botswana and was later promoted as a General Manager and managed the operation till his return in 2002. He has taught as a part-time lecture at University of Botswana 's DABS program. He is now overseeing various operations of Borderlands.

     
 
Nishan

Sri Lankan

Nishan has been involved in outdoor educational programs in Sri Lanka for five years. He manages our sales and marketing team, and can be found on a program whenever time permits. His passion for outdoor education is infectious and brings a high concentration of integrity to our programs.
     
Viraj
Sri Lankan

Viraj is a Thomian and a graduate of the Ceylon Hotel School & School of Tourism. He had been in the hotel trade for 16 years as a professional chef after which he took into training and had been in the training field for the past 6 years. He has followed the Diploma in HRM and is a certified trainer from the Sri Lanka National Tourism HRD Committee and Hostec Hospitality Services ( Australia ) specialized in group training. He has been certified as a First Aider from both the SLRCS and St. John's Ambulance Service. Viraj is a keen adventure lover. Presently working as the Training Manager for the company, Viraj had been actively involved in our corporate training programs.

     
Laxmi

Nepali
Laxmi is a registered nurse by profession. Her passion for Adventure activities and community base nursing turned her in to an out door nurse. She overlooks the medical issues and manages the company's emergency procedures. Having lived in Hong-Kong, Nepal and Sri Lanka, she is comfortable from the metropolis of a big city, to the simplicity of a tent and brings a wide depth of experience to the programs.
     
Nuwan
Sri Lankan
Nuwan has been working as the accountant for Borderlands for the past year and manages all of the financial sectors.
     
Major Raajiv

Sri Lankan
R aajiv is a Thomian and a Graduate of the Pakistan Military Academy. He has 15 years of combat experience in the Sri Lanka Army with the Tank Regiment and the Special Forces Brigade. Holding the rank of Major he is a Paratrooper and SCUBA diver. He loves adventure, the outdoors and off roading. He has extensive hands on knowledge and experience in Training and has been with Borderlands from 2003 onwards. He is presently working as a Consultant on Disaster Risk Management, HR and Security.
     

Ranga
Sri Lankan

Ranga is working as a Web and Graphic Designer for Borderlands, He update and develops this web site and he also works as the Video Editor for Borderlands.He has professional qualifications in Graphics, 3D Animations, Cartoons, Video Editing & Special Effects.
     

Udaya

Sri Lankan

Udaya is a professional photographer, rifle shooter, and course director. He has been working on our Sri Lankan programs for two years, and is seldom seen without a camera in his hands and a smile on his face. When not facilitating programs for Borderlands, Udaya is one of the country's top tea buyer's
     
Kosala
Sri Lankan

Kosala is a Well experienced White water rafting guide. He has been running river trips for the last 5 years. He loves to run trips in Seethawaka river in Avissawella which is classified as a grade 4 plus river. He's a strong swimmer who is also keen on hiking & trekking.

     
Ranjith

Sri Lankan

Ranjith is a long standing member of the team, acting as the gear-in-charge based in Kithulgala. He is a committed hard working guy who's also an adventure lover, keen on camping.

     
Thilak
Sri Lankan

Thilak is a young ardent member of the Borderlands team. Born in the town of Balapitiya Sri Lanka, he is a keen adventure doer. An experienced Boat-ride tour guide from down south, he joined hands with borderlands as a logistic team member and a safety kayaker for the rafting trips.

 
Jakub
Czech Republic

Jakub's passion for adventure and outdoor brought him to Sri Lanka . He is on a half year internship with us. He's an experienced rock climber and has climbed many challenging traditional climbs in Utah and Colorado , USA . He organizes adventure races in Czech Republic .

     
Sarka
Czech Republic

Sarka graduated in Finance from university of Prague , but her love for outdoor and adventure made her abandon an accounting office. She is now on a half year internship with us along with Jakub. Sarka has a long term experience with sports tours guiding in Europe . She is a good climber and an enthusiastic mountain biker.

     

Jason

Sri Lankan

Jason is a keen adventure-lover and rock climber, and during his three years living in Australia, improved his climbing skills to become one of Borderlands instructors.
     
Sakumal
Sri Lankan
Sakumal has been instructing programs and marketing the company to many of Sri Lanka's key companies for two years. Saku has a key interest in facilitating and is currently studying marketing. An aspiring rock climber, when not working for Borderlands, he can be found tasting and grading up to 300 brands of tea a day, working as a professional tea taster.
     
Jayanthi
Sri Lankan

 
Jayanthi has completed the 28-day Basic & 28-day Advanced Course in Mountaineering, from the HMI, in Darjeeling, India in year 2003 & 2004. These courses included techniques involved with rock climbing, ice climbing and snow craft. She also has climbed a 19,000-foot high-unnamed peak in Western Sikkim. Currently, she is the only Sri Lankan woman to have climbed to such a height.
She completed her B.A. English (Hons) at the University of Delhi. Since then she has been working with the Women and Media Collective (WMC), in Colombo, and is also a freelance writer for Travel Sri Lanka.
   

Sandra

Sandra is a mother of two, a teacher, as well as an air stewardess, Sandra has been facilitating various programs for Borderlands for two years. Having a passion for outdoor activities, she was also the first air hostess for Sri Lankan Airlines.
     
Cyril
Sri Lankan

 
Cyril is one of the founding fathers of adventure education on the island and helped pioneer programs in the country, starting in 1986. He works as a course director for Borderlands, and has a passion for experiential learning. Cyril is a key figure in human resource development, and when not conducting programs for Borderlands, he is a trainer for one of the country's leading garment companies.
     
Rasheed
Sri Lankan

Rasheed is an ardent product of Wesley College , Colombo . He is equipped with 12 years of valuable experience in the field of Marine Transportation, and is presently working for a leading shipping company in Colombo as an Equipment Controller.
During week ends, he gets off the ships to join Borderlands and pursues his passion of outsdoor Adventure. Rasheed is also an active member of a civilian gun club. He can be found most of the Sundays at Hantane Range , Kandy shooting down targets with Pistols and Rifles due to his love for shooting.

     
Ajith
Sri Lankan

Ajith is Working at the Colombo office, as an office assistant. His main duties are to undertake office maintenance, Banking and speed delivery to various other locations. He is a soft-spoken person with a good heart.

 

Mayalu
Sri Lankan with German (shepherd) roots!


Mayalu our cutest trainer accompanies groups on programs. When not busy guarding and protecting the Borderlands office. Raised in Sri Lanka, she particularly loves the water and is an aspiring raft and kayak passenger.
