Mountain biking is the perfect way to travel and see the country, off the roads and on the single tracks. Travel through the tea estates and witness the stunning scenery that the inland of the island has to offer, or travel along the coast, witnessing stunning beaches and ocean views, all whilst enjoying your team's company, and an invigorating day's work out. Borderlands provide all equipment, including quality bikes and state of the art helmets for all participants. Some of Borderlands bike tours are conducted from Kithulgala and Avissawella, and can range from one day programs, to seven day programs. Comfortable and friendly hotels are provided along the way, giving bikers the chance to relax and unwind after each fun filled day of biking. Most tracks are of good quality though some are rocky; the terrain ranges from gentle hills to mountains, and rides can be varied according to ability, though reasonable fitness and some off-road experience is required. Traveling by bike you get to see the best of the country, with the chance to visit little known areas, as well as the principal cultural sites, such as the rock fortress at Sigiriya, and also the various different environments on offer, such as the sprawling beaches running along the island's coast line, or the tea estates in the centre of the island. A combination of tea plantation tracks, canal paths, main roads and quiet back roads are all used on different bike tours.
